in progress
funding: EU funds

A package of 11 TAURON Group battery energy storage facilities with a combined power of 346.8 MW and a capacity of approx. 1.5 GWh, covered by a single co-financing call of the Modernisation Fund, operated by NFOŚiGW. The projects were qualified for support in December 2025, and on 30 December 2025 TAURON Zielona Energia and the special-purpose companies TAURON BME 4, BME 8 and BME 9 signed agreements for a total of PLN 537.75 million, covering 35 to 45 percent of the cost of the individual investments. The largest sites are Laryszów (84 MW / 358 MWh), Ogrodzieniec (55 MW / 237 MWh) and Bałków (54 MW / 242 MWh); the others are Twardogóra, Dąbrowa Środkowa, Stare Bogaczowice, Bytom, Kuźnia Raciborska, Baranowice, Pilchowice and Radlna Tarnowiec. Construction is planned for 2026–2028. According to the report for the first half of 2026, the Kuźnia Raciborska facility (6.9 MW) was 96 percent complete and due for completion in the third quarter of 2026. The other projects were at an early stage, with most of them due for commissioning in 2027–2028. The total cost of the programme has not been published.

Significance

The programme is to add 346.8 MW of battery storage capacity in the Śląskie, Dolnośląskie, Świętokrzyskie and Małopolskie voivodeships. According to TAURON, the facilities are to provide system services, increase the grid's capacity to take in renewable energy and lower balancing costs. The package counts towards the TAURON Group strategy target for 2025–2035: 700 MW of battery storage capacity by 2030 and 1.4 GW by 2035.

Independence is counted the same way the gate that admits a record counts it: subdomains and titles from one publisher are a single voice, Wikipedia is zero. That is why the number is lower than the number of links. Three is the minimum.
